We are staying in an Escapees Rainbow park with lots of history. It was originally a trailer park and barracks for WWII bomber crews, then a trailer park and RV park and now just a small RV park. Some full time month to month RV's and people just passing thru for the night. Pecos has gone thru its ups and downs through the years and at present most of the buildings and houses are empty. Sad looking town.
The camp manager is a true desert rat, he lives here year round only leaving for medical care in Oregon when he has to. His wife spends the summer in Oregon with family and returns the end of September. The workamper running the office is a widower from Louisiana and goes by the name "Cajun". Just listening to him talk sounds like music! We are meeting the most interesting people on our travels :-)
The following picture is a reminder that we are staying in 55+ RV parks. This was in the bathroom over the trash can, I couldn't let it pass.
