Picture of the Pecos river in Rough Canyon just before we came to Del Rio Texas. The Pecos, Rio Grande and another river join together at the Amisted Reservoir to form a huge lake. The shoreline is over 600 miles. The dam is half in US and half in Mexico. Had we known about this jewel we would have planned another day so we could have gone kayaking. Another time.

On the drive from Pecos to Del Rio we stopped in a small town called Sanderson. The info center was closed but they had a nice garden behind the building with the history of Sanderson highlighted on sandstone slabs. Across the street was an old burned out adobe house we just could not resist taking a few pictures of. One shows me running across the street after setting up the camera on a small tripod with the timer on. This is as far as I got in ten seconds :-)

Using the small tripod with the timer we were able to get these pictures. We may have to look for a bigger tripod and figure out how to extend the timer on the camera.
